2008 Business Trip 2: Korea
This time I was off to Korea via NRT. This is the United lounge at NRT which is a pretty decent lounge. They offer free beer there so the time passes quickly.
The hotel was also pretty nice. They had fresh gerbera daisies in the room.
I wish there was more time in Korea, because usually, I'm just in and out and there's not that much time to go look around. These business trips are just business and there's not that much fun involved.
Our hotel, the Grand Intercontinental Seoul is attached to an underground mall which made it convenient. There's lots of stuff to buy, but nothing that you can't find here in the US.
I don't know why I would buy coffee from seven monkeys.
Doll in the traditional Korean hambuk.
The metal weave on the elevator door.
The bamboo in the hall outside my room.

Chinese food in Miramar?
This time we made the trek out to San Diego to have dinner with my cousins and my Uncle. Man it's far! This is actually at Ming's at the Holiday Inn in Miramar. I didn't have any expectations for this "Chinese" restaurant in a Holiday Inn, but the food was fairly good.
Afterwards, we went to Yogurt World which is similar to Pinkberry or Red Mango, but they sell their dessert purely by weight. It was pretty good and they had a line out the door the whole time we were there.
Here is Allison with Uncle Victor. She's wondering when he's going to "seal the deal" with his girlfriend Rose pictured above.
Vivian even came down to visit from Reno.
Mommy thought it was fun to hold Joseph while he was sleeping. Allison is pretending to sleep.
Uncle Willy is always very generous with food!

2008 Business Trip 1: Detroit
It wasn't too cold in Detroit. The weather caught me off guard when I woke up and I realized I had to dust off the snow off of my car.
I caught a Piston's game while I was there. It wasn't as fun as the Tiger's no hitter game from last summer, but I had a good time being at a game.
Here is Rasheed getting psyched up before facing the Raptors.
We went to the GM Renaissance Center and saw some old GM cars.
On the way home, I saw the sunrise over Chicago.

wintertime colds
I don't know anyone who likes it when their kids are sick. The kids are usually pretty good about it and TV seems to take their mind off of it.
Allison's baby makes is trying to make her feel better.
TV seems to make the cold more bearable.

making potstickers
Allison wanted to make potstickers so she singlehandedly wrapped about 50 pieces all by herself!
Joseph decided that Mommy needed help.

Universal Studios City Walk
Christmas break was a great time to walk about the city. Victor stayed with us along with his friend, Rose.
We are all wondering if Victor is going to seal the deal with Rose.
It looks like we're from the PRC.
Here we are with the world behind us.
I asked Allison to ask Rose if she will be her real Auntie.
